Privacy

Backups — read this one
StageScore can write a dated archive of your library to a folder you nominate. That archive contains your PDF scores, along with your annotations and setlists. It is never sent to me.
If you choose a folder belonging to iCloud Drive, Dropbox, Google Drive or similar, those files are then held by that company under their own privacy policy. Choose a folder on the iPad itself, or turn backups off, if you would rather that didn't happen.
Camera and microphone
The camera is used only when you open the scanner; the pages it captures become a PDF on your device.
The microphone is used only while the tuner is on screen. Audio is analysed in memory to identify pitch, and is never recorded, stored or transmitted. iPadOS asks permission for each, and you can withdraw it at any time in Settings.
Your rights, and how to exercise them
StageScore is operated from Israel and subject to the Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981. Because it is sold worldwide, the EU and UK GDPR apply to users in those regions, and comparable laws elsewhere. Under all of them you have rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability and objection.
Because StageScore holds no personal data about you — no account, no server, no analytics — there is in practice nothing to disclose, correct or erase. If you believe otherwise, write to the address above and I will respond within one month.
You may also complain to your data protection authority: the Privacy Protection Authority in Israel, the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK, or your national supervisory authority in the EU. For California residents: I do not collect, sell or share personal information as those terms are used in the CCPA and CPRA.
Diagnostics, children, and changes
Diagnostics. There are no third-party tracking or advertising libraries. Anonymous crash reports reach me only through Apple's own App Store analytics, and only if you have enabled sharing in your iPadOS settings.
Children. StageScore is a general-audience tool and collects no data from anyone of any age. It has no advertising, no messaging, and nothing that would let a child be contacted or identified.
Changes. If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and anything material is noted in the app's release notes.
Terms
Last updated: August 2026. StageScore is licensed, not sold, and distributed through the App Store. Your use is governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement, which takes precedence wherever it and this page differ.

- You are responsible for having the right to the music you import.
- Apple is the seller. Refunds go through Apple.
Licence and trial
A 14-day full-access trial begins when you install the app. Afterwards, making new annotations, importing new scores, and the metronome and tuner require a one-time non-consumable In-App Purchase. Reading your library, page turns, annotations already made, PDF export and backup continue to work without it.
Apple is not responsible for StageScore or its content, and has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for it.
Copyright in the music you import
StageScore is a document reader and annotation tool. It ships no music of any kind and distributes no copyrighted works.
You are solely responsible for holding the copyright, public-domain status or licence for any file you import. Unlawful copying is not permitted.
Payment, refunds and liability
Payment. Apple is the seller of record. All payments, receipts, refunds and cancellations are handled by Apple under the App Store Terms of Service, and refund requests must go to Apple rather than to me. If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, your statutory cancellation rights are exercised through Apple and are unaffected by these terms.
Liability. StageScore is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law I am not liable for performance disruptions, missed cues, lost earnings or incidental damages arising from use during rehearsal or performance. Nothing here excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel. Where Apple's Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement applies, its own governing-law provisions take precedence. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, nothing here deprives you of the mandatory consumer protections of your own country.
